It is situated to the east of the Illa del Rei, in the middle of Mahón harbour.

     The structure of the Basílica is very changed due to the added buildings both the burial chambers and dwellings. This means that here we have a monastic type of establishment.

       When it was excavated it was easier to distinguish the nave of the church because of the mosaic flooring which was very similar to that of Fornàs de Torelló, but this was moved to the Museum of Menorca.
